Enjoy the day soaking up the rays at Crescent Beach. Pack the sunscreen and towels and take a dip in the Boundary Bay waters. With amenities close by, such as the Seahorse Grill, Wired Monk Café, and Heron Park nearby, Crescent Beach is a destination that can accommodate an all day excursion.
Who doesn’t love a day of fishing out on the lake? Surrey is home to the Green Timbers Lake, stocked twice per year with Rainbow Trout. Nothing spells out fun in the sun like jumping into the old boat and testing your luck and catching a few fish. Note that anyone age 16 years and older must possess a current Freshwater Fishing License to fish at Green Timbers Lake.
Bring the kids, or a date to Bear Creek Park and enjoy mini-golf and a kids train ride that leaves every 15 minutes. Entrenched in beautiful greenery, the 18-hole mini golf course is a great place to practice your putting skills and have a laugh. The course takes between 30 to 45 minutes, and leaves the mind refreshed and rejuvenated. Eddy the Engine will guide children along a themed tunnel display, forest and Bear Creek gardens. Pack a Frisbee and some lunch and enjoy all that Bear Creek Park has to offer.
Go for a hike at Tynehead Regional Park. There are a variety of trails ranging from a quick 10 minute walk, to an almost 2 kilometer stretch through the forest, meadows and waterways. With wheelchair accessible trails, and off-leash dog areas, everyone can enjoy Tynehead Park. Not only are there great trails, but Tynehead hosts a butterfly walk, a salmon fry pond, and a fish hatchery. Enjoy a day immersed in nature and sunshine.
A truly unique experience awaits you at the Honeybee Centre. Take a public guided tour of the working honeybee farm, and see honeybees up close in the observation hive. Explore and shop the various honeybee products at the shop, including honey, beeswax candles, and natural body care and nutrition.
